These are some pictures from my Graduation ceremony for the Master of Science Title (M.Sc – Communication and Engineering).

For 2 and a half year I have been studying and working for my Master Thesis in the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg.

The University of Applied Sciences Offenburg has offered Master’s Degree Programs for 11 years now (since 1998). The master lectures are in English (and sometimes, additional elective courses can be chosen in German).
The program is an international programm bringing together people from many different countries. I enjoyed the time in Offenburg with friends from Colombia (~Bolivia), Mexico, Turkey, China and many other countries. The atmosphere in the campus is very friendly and studing here was a wonderfull experience that I will never forget.

The master if focused mainly in the science of Telecomminucation and provides additionaly some programming courses. I will advise it to anyone. The organization is perfect (way much better than RWTH-Aachen for example, my fiancee has studied there and we often compared these 2 universities. RWTH-Aachen is University of Excellence, but Uni. of Applied Sciences of Offenburg has a great organization, and the professors are teaching you, and not some assistants).

I was enthusiast to join this University because I read their vision-statement. Here it goes for anyone who gets into this post :)

The central idea and vision for the Master’s Degree Program “Communication and Media Engineering” is to educate a scientific elite in the cutting-edge Telecommunication and Digital Media Technologies.

The program provides graduates with the necessary tools for a career in the field of media and communication technology as well in the academic as in the business world.

More info about this program you can get by clicking here.

The CME Programm

The programme contains modules with a focus on: Communication- and Information Technology, Media Technology and Non-Technical subjects (business, social skills, language).

The programme teaches indespensable key qualifications within the dynamic, complex and fast changing environment of information technology. This includes all the relevant elements of communication technology in combination with multimedia issues. It is this joint effort that distinguishes the graduates. In addition, the programme helps students to acquire management skills and social competence within an international surrounding. It provides graduates with the necessary tools for a career in the field of media and communication technology as well in the academic as in the business world.

well maybe you are right… tho i think RWTH is like MIT in germany, and FHO is more like a engineer training school.

      Hi Armand,

First of all Congrats!!. Can you please tell me the placement scenario once u get out of this course. Is it widely sought out by companies?. Is there any trouble getting a job after ur done with the course. Can you please tell me how much amount an International Student will need to have with him for 2 years if he is taking this course.

      Thanks,
      Subin

    4. Hello Subin,
Regarding your job chances after the studies: From my class, everyone who wanted to stay in Germany and find a job here, was able to succeed in that. Although there is a crisis, I think there are good still good options in Germany. What you need to do, is improve your German fast. Sometimes language is a keyfactor in hiring.

DAAD has published somewhere in their website, a cost description of a student’s life in Germany. They calculate something around 650Euro / month (and it is correct). If you are hard working and needy, there are good chances you can find a part-time job in the University in the 3d semester(because the 1st and 2nd semesters are pretty demanding). The job will provide you sth like 400Eu for 10hrs work per week.

If you need to know more, drop me an email (mandi # shqiperia.com).

      Regards,
      Armand
